SEATTLE, WA (The Spread) – With their playoff hopes on the line, the Seahawks are nearly a 7-point favorite this Sunday versus the Jets. They have covered in three of their last four games but they were blown out by the Dolphins 30-9 as a 1-point home favorite two weeks ago before their bye. Mark Sanchez completed 28-of-54 passes for 283 yards with one touchdown and one interception, while Shonn Greene rushed for 77 yards on 15 carries and Clyde Gates caught seven passes for 82 yards. Despite their losing record, the Jets are 5-3 against the spread this season. SEATTLE: After losing two straight games the Seahawks got back on track last Sunday with a 30-20 win as a 4.5-point favorite over the Vikings. They’ve now covered the spread in four of their last five games and are 6-3 against the number this season. In their win last week Russell Wilson completed 16-of-24 passes for 173 yards with three touchdowns. Marshawn Lynch also pounded out 124 yards on 26 carries with one touchdown, while Golden Tate caught four passes for 28 yards and two touchdowns. With the win the Seahawks are now 5-4 overall and are just one game back of the 49ers in the win column, although they’re two games back in the loss column. ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Seahawks are 6-point favorites versus the Jets while the over/under total is currently sitting at 38.5 points. New York is 3-5 overall and 1-2 on the road, while Seattle is 5-4 overall and 4-0 at home. TRENDS: The Jets are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games following a straight up loss and 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games in November. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are 4-0 against the number in their last four home games, 4-1 ATS in their last five games in Week 10 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in November.
