Falcons vs. Eagles NFL Week 8 Odds
PHILADELPHIA, PA (The Spread) – The Falcons will put their undefeated record on the line this Sunday when they visit the Eagles at 1:00PM ET.
ATLANTA: The Falcons beat the Raiders 23-20 in Week 6 thanks to a last-second field goal by kicker Matt Bryant. Matt Ryan threw three interceptions in the win, while Michael Turner was held to 33 yards on 11 carries. The win ran Atlanta’s record to 6-0 but it was the second time in three weeks that the Falcons failed to cover the spread. That said, they’re 4-2 against the number this season and are fresh after having a bye in Week 7. Ryan leads the team with 1,756 passing yards while Tony Gonzalez has a team-high four touchdowns and John Abraham leads the defense with six sacks.
PHILADELPHIA: The bye week couldn’t have come at a better time for the Eagles, who have lost two straight and three of their last four. The Lions came back to beat Philadelphia 26-23 two weeks ago and the Steelers also pulled off a fourth quarter comeback versus the Eagles in Week 5. Michael Vick continues to have issues turning the ball over and the team’s latest loss dropped Philly’s record to 3-3 on the year and 1-4-1 against the spread. ODDS: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Eagles are 1-point favorites over the Falcons, while the over/under total is currently sitting at 45.5 points. The Eagles enter this game with a straight up record of 3-3 and are 1-4-1 against the spread, while the Falcons are 6-0 straight up and 4-2 ATS. TRENDS: The Falcons are just 1-5 against the spread in their last six trips to Philadelphia and 3-9-1 ATS in their last 13 games overall versus the Eagles. The under is also 3-1-1 in the last five meetings in Philadelphia and 6-2-1 in the last nine meetings overall. The home team is 5-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings and the favorite is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. Want More From TheSpread.com?
