Super Bowl XLVII MVP Odds
NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – The Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers have plenty of impact players. Which one will make the biggest impact and be the MVP of Super Bowl XLVII? View Updated 2013 Super Bowl Odds According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick is the favorite to win the MVP, as he has a money line of +160. Other short odds to win are Baltimore quarterback Joe Flacco (+300) and Baltimore linebacker Ray Lewis (+800). Kaepernick is a dynamic player that can beat teams with his arms and his leg. In the two playoff games for San Francisco, he has been a big part of the success. He rushed for 181 yards and two scores while throwing for 263 yards and two touchdowns in the win over the Packers. Against the Falcons, Kaepernick threw for 233 yards and a touchdown while rushing for 21 yards. Flacco has thrown for 853 yards in the postseason and has eight touchdowns with no interceptions. He had 331 yards and three scores against the Broncos and had three touchdown passes against the Patriots in the AFC Championship. With the 49ers allowing close to 400 passing yards against the Falcons, the door may be open for Flacco to have a big game. Lewis has had a very strong playoff run. He has had 44 tackles through the three games, picking up a minimum of 13 tackles in each contest. Lewis announced he would be retiring at the end of this season, and he is clearly playing inspired football. Today will be his last game, so you can expect him to be around the football often. Lewis won the Super Bowl MVP award at Super Bowl XXXV, when he led the Ravens over the Giants. In the history of the Super Bowl, the MVP has most often gone to a quarterback. That position has won the award 25 times, with running back the next closest at 7. The last non-quarterback to win was Santonio Holmes, receiver for the Steelers, in Super Bowl XLIII in 2009. Lewis is one of two linebackers to ever win the award and just eight defensive players total have ever been selected as the MVP.
