(The Spread) - The matchup for Super Bowl XLVII is now set and the odds are out for February 3rd's title game between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers.

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the 49ers are currently 4-point favorites versus the Ravens for this year's Super Bowl. There was some early action on San Francisco that caused the line to jump up to 4.5, but the spread has been bet back down to 4 at most online and Las Vegas sports books. As for the total, it opened at 48 and is either 48, 48.5 or 49 depending on what book you view.

There were some books that had San Francisco opening as a 5-point favorite but according to our NFL public betting charts, 59% of the action right now is on Baltimore. Considering the majority of the public backed New England in the AFC Championship Game and Baltimore pulled off the impressive upset, public bettors may side with the Ravens over these next two weeks. Then again, the 49ers are clearly the better team on paper and with the way they erased a 17-point deficit in the NFC title game, maybe the public money will swing towards San Francisco at some point.

The Ravens struggled against the spread all season, finishing 6-9-1 in the regular season. But in the postseason it's been a different story. After winning outright as a 9.5-point underdog at Denver in the Divisional round and as an 8-point dog in the AFC Championship, the Ravens are now 3-0 in the postseason. They also covered as a 7.5-point favorite in a 24-9 win over the Colts in the wild card round.

The Niners were relatively solid against the spread in the regular season, finishing with a 9-7 record. They're also 2-0 in the postseason after covering as a 3-point favorite in a 45-31 victory over the Packers in the Divisional round and as a 3.5-point favorite versus the Falcons in the NFC Championship Game. That said, some books had the Niners listed at either -4 or -4.5, so some bettors lost money on San Francisco last Sunday in Atlanta.

As for the trends, the home team is 4-0 against the spread in the last four meetings between these two teams while the Ravens are now 4-0 against the number in their last four postseason games. They're also 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall and 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record. The under is 4-1 in Baltimore's last five postseason games but the over is 6-0 in San Francisco's last six games overall.
