The Texans come into this game as the favorite at home, as they have odds of -4.5 points against the Bengals. The over/under total for the game has been set at 43 points. There are a number of key players on both sides of the ball in this game. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Houston defensive end J.J. Watt has been given over/under odds of 1.5 sacks for this contest while Cincinnati receiver A.J. Green has been given over/under odds of 6.5 receptions.

Watt is one of the leading candidates for NFL Defensive Player of the Year due to his strong sophomore season with the Texans. Watt recorded 81 tackles and 20.5 sacks during the regular season, falling a few sacks shy of the NFL single-season record. Watt had at least ½ a sack in 12 of Houston’s 16 games this year. He recorded at least two sacks in six games. The Bengals struggled with pass protection this season, allowing a total of 46 sacks. That total was seventh-worst in the NFL this season. Watt will have his chances to have a big game on Saturday.

Green has been the most consistent presence on the Cincinnati offense this season. The second-year receiver out of Georgia has caught 97 passes for 1,350 yards and 11 touchdowns. That is an average of 6.06 receptions per game. In eight of the Bengals’ 16 games, Green caught at least 7 passes. He was targeted 164 times throughout the season, an average of 10.25 targets per game. The Houston defense was in the middle of the road in the NFL. The Texans allowed 225.8 passing yards per game. Houston did allow the sixth-most touchdown passes in the league at 29, which makes Green a big target in the red zone.
