AVONDALDE, AZ (TheSpread) – Mark Martin was fastest in qualifying on Friday and will now start up front for Sunday’s Subway Fresh Fit 500. According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Denny Hamlin is the new solo favorite to win following qualifying, as he has odds of +400. Jimmie Johnson and Kyle Busch have each been given odds of +500 to win, while Martin’s odds have improved to +1200. Hamlin qualified eight on Friday for Sunday’s race. He placed 14th last Sunday. Hamlin owns one win and seven top 5s at this track. His average finish is 10.3 and he has a driver rating of 100.4 at Phoenix, which ranks second in the series. Johnson is coming off a win in the Daytona 500 last week. Johnson has four wins and 12 top 5s in his career at this track. His average finish is 6.7 and his driver rating at Phoenix is 115.8, which is by far the best for any driver. Johnson will start third on Sunday. Busch will start fourth for Sunday’s race. He had car trouble last week, placing 34th in the Daytona 500. Busch has one win in his career at Phoenix and has an average finish of 13.3. His driver rating at the track is 99.9, which ranks third amongst current drivers. The Subway Fresh Fit 500 will take place Sunday, March 3 at 3:14PM ET from Phoenix International Raceway.
